Public Option Shot Down

By admin | September 30, 2009

What the hell? Again I say what the hell? I was watching the news and saw that the public option was shot down in the senate. I think that the worst part about this is that now there will be no competition for the insurance companies. There was even talk after the story that now there is a good possibility that insurance rates will actually increase after this is all said and done. INCREASE… What the hell?

I thought that we were trying to reform insurance so that it would be cheaper for all and that everyone would now be able to afford health care. This is certainly not the case. Do you all remember when car insurance became mandatory and that we were told insurance rates would go down because more people would be forced to get insurance? This did not happen and most rates actually went up. The same thing is going to happen with health insurance.

Why are Americans afraid to help Americans is my biggest question? Why are we all ok with buying bombs with our tax dollars but not wanting to help a poor American that is broke and broke his leg? I am disgusted with the congress for shooting this down and I am pissed at the American people for not wanting to take care of their own.

Bunch of assholes if you ask me.

The public option just makes it cheaper for the jackasses who choose not to “help their fellow Americans by towing their share”. If the public option was actually cheaper for the American people, why are we trying to find ways to pay for it via more taxes?

The leftist lack of peripheral vision with the big picture of how the world works here on Planet Earth is what’s disgusting.

Our healthcare system is pretty good by comparison to many other countries with socialized medicine. That said, it isn’t perfect.

Don’t kid yourself that a public “option” would actually end up being optional.

I do not see a problem with the public option being there, we need it as an option. I think that part of what our country stands for is to take care of it’s citizens. It is the assholes of the world that are afraid of taking care of their own people and prefer to spend money on bombs that are bringing this country down.

Our health care system sucks and you know it does. We have one of the highest child mortality rates of the civilized country. Doesn’t it piss you off that on average Canadians live 2 years longer than we do? Our health care stands at #37 on the world stage. # fuckin 37 and you call this good?

I find it flawed that we call ourselves the best country in the world but we cannot take care of our own and the right does not seem to care. Regardless of what you hear from the right, speak to a Canadian (Rank 30) or someone from the UK (Rank 18) and ask them about their health care. If their way of taking care of their citizens sucks so bad, why is it that they are rated so much higher and have a longer expected life span than us poor bastards?

I find it hard to believe that you consider this acceptable for our country. That you just accept this and move on pretending that it is actually better than reality. Costa Rica and Morocco have a better health care system than we do WFT. This is not acceptable in any way, shape or form.

Look at the other links there like cost, quality, preventable deaths. Is this acceptable to you #37 (Oh, that’s right, you think we are number 1 because you heard it somewhere) ?

Keep your head in the sand if you don’t believe it to be true and stay among the lemmings. It is no coincidence that the countries that have citizens with longer life spans and better (even cheaper) health care have a government system. They take care of their own.

And we pay more than any other country (except the Marshal Islands) does for this crap service. WTF. That is not the American way. Our way has now become work hard, get sick and lose everything.
