What was this country founded upon?

By admin | July 25, 2011

Isn’t the answer compromise?

We need to make serious cuts and if I had my way that would also include the military. We also need to increase the tax rate on the rich. Between both ideas money will be raised and the budget will be cut.

Currently the military budget is 685.1 Billion $$. That is over half a trillion. If we could get 10% of that focused into public works. It doesn’t matter if the military doing it or civilian laborers. The country needs the job and we certainly need the infrastructure.

$11.4 Billion for the F-35. Isn’t that a joint strike fighter that we are developing for not only us but the rest of our allies. How much are our allies putting up to get the latest and greatest technology. You know we will give it away and not make back our invention investment. We should do the same thing we have done with the space program and switch to robot fighters. They take a lot less investment and they can get the job done safely.

I am a firm believer in NASA and the manned space program and feel that we should be focusing on that as well as robotic missions. When it comes to war I hate to say it but “We need a Robotic Solution for War!”. I’m not talking about the captain Kirk type scenario where people report to denigration chambers because their city was hit and I’m not talking about a Terminator, judgement day, Skynet solution.  I’m talking about a robotic military that costs less than feeding a soldier and putting American lives at risk. Robots “currently” can’t do everything but they can certainly take more damage than flesh. They can sit until needed and someone sitting in a chair in the United States can control them rather than putting their own lives at stake. There is a lot of potential for abuse of this system so it would need oversight but it would allow us to place funds back into the United States infrastructure and once again become a world power. Think about the people our country sends over seas. If they were located locally and were still in the military wouldn’t they be a benefit to our society when natural disasters occur? I guarantee you that the recent flooding of the rivers in the mid west would have loved to have had the help of soldiers that were in Afghanistan instead.

Wow was that the Gin and Tonic talking?…..

Really?

By admin | June 28, 2011

My question is who is the republican candidate this next election? There are the two sad women candidates or the Mormons. Really? Well, I’ve got a lot to say about that but I’ll hold my tongue until it starts to matters. ;0)

Out of the loop

By admin | June 23, 2011

I’ve been out of the loop for some time now and am just now getting back to releasing my aggressions by blogging. I am sick and tired of nothing getting done in Washington. If you make more than $250k a year you should be taxed at a higher rate. The Bush era tax cuts for the rich need to be removed. If our country is having that much of a money crunch shouldn’t the top 1% who own 40% of the wealth in the country be footing the bill more? Hell I’m down with a 50% tax increase on those who make more than 1 million per year. If you can’t get by on $500,000 per year you’ve not only got serious problems but you are destroying lives and our country.

The American people fear that they will one day be rich and do not want this high of tax rate. I’ve got news for you, if things don’t change the only people in this country that are going to be rich are those that already are. Sure there will be some lottery winners here and there but the bulk of America’s wealth is staying put and going to be just handed down from parents to kids again and again. Isn’t this against what this country was founded on? Isn’t opportunity and the elimination of a class system what the USA was founded on?

Why is it that spreading the wealth around is considered a bad thing? I’m not a communist but I am a socialist and feel that there has got to be a better way to let everyone have opportunity than our current system. Higher education should be free to everyone that is a citizen of this country. With an increase in education our society will become a better place for all. Keeping the masses down starts with limiting education to the rich. If there are no new rich our society will fall apart and everyone who is broke will become a slave labor class of people.

Eat Cats

By admin | June 23, 2011

I’ve got a small little farm and no matter what I do there are always new cats running around or grasshoppers. I think that in these tough times I am going to start selling cats and grasshoppers for food. The problem is finding the buyers because cats breed like cats and so getting them is never a problem.

The Economy Hits Home

By admin | May 25, 2010

OK, the economy just hit here hard. All beer went up in price at my local gas station. Can you believe that my 4 pack of Mickey’s which was $2.99 went up 25% to $3.99… Why on earth would beer go up 25%. Miller 12 packs were $6.99 which is a great deal if you don’t mind cheap beer. Now they are $8.99.

I feel betrayed, used and overall pissed off.
